Meet Stephanie

“I’m excited for the holidays this year,” exclaims 8 year-old Stephanie, a member of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley – Loudon County Club. “Each year, the Club has a really fun Holiday Showcase, and parents get to come see us perform. All the kids at the Club get to participate if they want to and I love it! Some of us sing, some dance, and others put on little plays.

The other great thing about the Club is how they help with homework. Sometimes I need help with math and reading, because math is hard right now. We’re learning about measuring, like cups and quarts. Power Hour helps me focus on my homework and the staff sit with me one on one and help. It also gives me time to do something I really like, which is reading. Right now, I’m reading Diary of a Whimpy Kid, which is pretty funny.”
