“I love going to the homework room at the Club,” says 8 year-old Yanelly, a member of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley – Fort Craig Club. “It gives me quiet time to focus on my homework and read, so I can get it done and then have the rest of my afternoon and night to have fun.

I really enjoy reading. Right now, I’m reading a book call Wonder and it’s about a boy named Auggie who has a different looking face and his classmates have a hard time looking past his face. The book is showing me that it’s important not to judge people by their looks and to always be nice to people. This is also what we learn in the Club everyday – you should always be nice to everyone.”
