“The Club has taught me to have good sportsmanship,” says 11 year-old Tanner, a member of Boys & Girls Club of N. Anderson County. “Good sportsmanship involves a lot of things, such as always having a positive attitude, giving your best effort, following the rules of the game, and accepting a loss without complaining. But I think the most important part is showing respect, to both the other team and your teammates.

I’m really proud to be the Youth of the Month and I know that I was chosen for this because I treat everyone at the Club with respect and I always try to be positive – which is what the staff here always encourages us to do. Outside of the Club, I play baseball and basketball on traveling teams, and I take what I learn at the Club and use it with my other teams.”
