Riley’s ready for summer at her Club.

Riley is 14 years old and just wrapped up 8th grade. She’s proud to be Anderson County’s Junior Youth of the Year and stays busy outside of the Club playing on her travel softball team, Team Tennessee, where she plays 1st and 3rd base.

This summer, Riley can’t wait to come back to her Club! One of her favorite things is Cooking Club—especially getting to eat the food afterward. She says what keeps her coming back is being around her friends and being able to just be herself.

What is she most excited about this summer? Field trips! Especially the swimming trips.

We can’t wait to see what this summer holds for Riley and all the members at her Club!

Harlyn’s Summer Plans at His Club!

Harlyn is Blount County’s Youth of the Year candidate and is ready for a fun and busy summer at his Club! He’s most excited to spend time with friends and take part in Thank-A-Thons to visit local businesses.

One thing Harlyn hopes to do more of is helping in the Education Room. He’s loved doing science experiments and wants to keep that going through the summer.

He’s also looking forward to playing basketball—especially the big summer game against the Boys & Girls Club of Loudon County!

If he could pick one field trip, it would be Dollywood. He missed it last year and really hopes to go this time.

Harlyn is also stepping up as a leader by helping with Summer Enrichment for younger members. He’s excited to make learning fun for everyone.

This summer is going to be a great one for Harlyn and his Club!

Jasmine’s Summer Fun at Her Club!

Jasmine is 8 years old and can’t wait for summer at her Tazewell-New Tazewell Primary School Club in Claiborne County! Her favorite part? Science experiments—especially the Mentos explosion. She hopes they’ll do it again this year.

She’s excited about fun field trips like bowling or going to see a movie. When it’s time to play, Jasmine is all about soccer and trying to beat her jump rope record.

For art, she loves painting—especially beach scenes—and hopes to make a walking spider craft again.

She says the best part of summer at her Club is seeing friends, doing experiments, and spending time with staff she loves. She also has great memories from last summer, like learning about the library and being in a play.

This summer, Jasmine hopes to learn more about animals and improve her sewing skills—she had a blast making monster dolls last year!

It’s going to be a great summer for Jasmine and her Club!

JoRissah is our BGCTNV Youth of the Year and she’s looking forward to an exciting summer! She’s continuing her internship at the Haslam Family University Club and hopes to visit the aquarium—she thinks fish are pretty cool.

Her favorite memory from last summer was traveling to Washington, D.C. for the Summit for America’s Youth Conference. This year, she’s excited to see the changes happening at the Club and is looking forward to playing volleyball with friends.
JoRissah loves making friendship bracelets, painting, and slime projects, and she’s hoping for some ice cream to cool off on hot days.

What makes summer extra special for her? “The staff are always so much fun and supportive,” she says. Plus, she enjoys meeting new teens who join in just for summer.

It’s going to be another great summer for JoRissah at her Club!

Wyatt’s Summer at His Club!

Wyatt is Loudon County’s Youth of the Year candidate and is ready for another awesome summer. He’s excited to start his YouthForce internship with Habitat for Humanity of Loudon County—a great next step after his internship at our Club last summer.

Wyatt says one of his biggest inspirations is Mr. Ethan, his favorite staff member. With Mr. Ethan’s support, Wyatt has explored sports like baseball and football, which help him stay active and build healthy habits.

Last summer, Wyatt gained important workforce skills through his first YouthForce experience. Now, he’s ready to keep learning, growing, and making the most of everything his Club has to offer.

It’s going to be a summer full of leadership, learning, and fun for Wyatt!
