The TRIO: Talent Search program, a federally funded initiative, supports postsecondary education for potential first-generation and economically disadvantaged college students. Offered at Austin-East and Fulton High Schools, it provides academic, career, and financial counseling to encourage participants to graduate from high school and pursue further education. The program also offers tutoring services, college campus visits, information on financial aid, career exploration, aptitude assessments, mentoring, and assistance in preparing for college entrance exams.
At no cost to the students, TRIO offers the following services:

- Assistance with Financial Aid
- Assistance with College Applications and application fee payment
- Assistance with ACT prep and payment for two ACT Exams
- College Tours
- Career Exploration
