We’re grateful to the East Tennessee Foundation and the CNS Y-12 Community Investment Fund for helping us do whatever it takes to build great futures at our Clubs.
With their support we’ve been able to add programming to Pre-K youth at our Lonsdale Club. We’re so excited to be able to offer this opportunity to our community.
- Funds intended to support the Pre-K (4 & 5 year old) Aftercare program at Lonsdale Elementary. Goal is to serve 15-20 youth. Currently serving 19.
- Goal is to increase Pre-K participation, by offering convenient aftercare, as many parents are unable to pick up their children at 1:30pm (end of pre-k day), so this program will extend service until 6pm and members never have to leave Lonsdale.
- Offer programs that promote kindergarten readiness. Focus on literacy, STEM, and the Arts.
- Dedicated team of Pre-K Staff and Pre-K Space in Lonsdale.
- With this new program, Boys & Girls Clubs will be providing an additional 600 hours of direct service annually, will provided increased family support services, and will be serving as a liaison between Lonsdale Elementary School and various community partners.
Currently, Kindergarten readiness in Knox County is less than 25% and by offering our program, it presents the opportunity to increase the Pre-K participation rate due to the convenience for parents, who no longer have to coordinate transportation for their children when the program dismisses early afternoon each day.
