Meet Victori
“I’ve been coming to the Club ever since I was in Kindergarten and now I’m in 3rd grade,” says 8 year-old Victori, a member of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley – Western Heights Club. “All the kids and the staff that are at the Club are super nice and we all help each other – like a family.
The Club has taught me to be independent and try to do things on my own. Before, if I had to do something on my own, like open a bottle, I’d ask someone else to do it. But the staff at the Club encourage me to try things to see if I can do it. They give me hints and tips to be successful. They taught me that the best way to open a bottle of Gatorade was to shake it first. Somehow that makes it easier to open the bottle. Now I know I can do things by myself!”
