BGCTNV receives grant from Truist for COVID-19 relief

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley receives donation from East Tennessee Foundation for child care service adjustments related to COVID-19
Knoxville, TN – Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley (BGCTNV) has received $2500 from the East Tennessee Foundation to assist in adjustments made in order to provide services during the COVID-19 pandemic.
These funds are being used to help BGCTNV follow CDC guidelines to ensure there are groups of no more than 10 at our Club sites. To do this, we have lowered our child to staff ratios to be one staff to every nine children.
We have also extended the hours at our Clubs to provide child care for the same hours essential employees will likely be working (6am to 6pm), increasing staffing costs at this time (especially into comparison to our normal budgeted after school hours).

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley (BGCTNV) strives to provide a world-class Club experience that puts success within reach of every young person who walks through its doors, putting them on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future. The organization provides a safe, caring environment for Club members during the summer and after school and offers more than 35 fun and educational programs covering a range of topics, including STEM, the Arts, Health & Wellness, Fitness Programs & Team Sports, and Summer Learning Loss Prevention.
