Meet Tres

“I feel like I’ve really grown a lot since I started coming to the Club four years ago,” says 14 year-old Tres, a member of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley – DeBusk Family Club. “The staff have worked with me on self-improvement, because when I was younger, I would tend to follow people, even if they were doing something bad. With the help of the staff, I’m proud to be a leader and I try really hard to be a good role model for the younger kids at the Club.

Mr. Jeromy has served as my mentor, because he’s very relatable. He talks to me about my interests, such as Marvel comics and basketball, because he’s interested in those too. We talk about the importance of treating others with respect, focusing on school, and being a good person. Basketball is something I love, so Mr. Jeromy gives me lots of pointers on how to improve my game.”
