“When school closed early this year, I was pretty sad,” says 7 year-old Allison, a member of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley – N. Anderson County Club. “The school gave us a great big packet of work to do, and I was a little scared when I saw all the papers. But Miss Shelby sat down with me and helped me with everything.

Some of the homework was easy, like reading, because I really enjoy reading, but some other things were a little harder, like math. The math homework was all about adding and subtracting coins, so that was kind of new to me, but Miss Shelby helped me with it and then I was able to understand and complete all the homework.”
