Meet Hailey
“Mr. Wendell comes up with some really interesting science experiments,” exclaims 9 year-old Hailey, a member of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley – Lake City Elementary Club. “One of my favorite science experiments was creating a windmill.
He gave us each a piece of paper with lines on it and we colored it. Then we cut on the lines, and folded the pieces of paper in a circle. After that, we attached it to a straw. When we blew on it, the windmill spun around. We learned that windmills use wind to create energy, and that energy can do things like create electricity and pump water. It was a really cool experiment!”
