Why Boys & Girls Clubs?: Working with children can be a deeply rewarding experience. Engaging with children’s active, imaginative, and creative nature can be refreshing and invigorating. You have the opportunity to meaningfully impact a child’s social, emotional, and cognitive development which can be incredibly fulfilling. Every day offers a chance to learn something new, either about children or about yourself as you navigate through various teaching moments. It has a positive impact on our community because the positive influence you have on a child can extend to their family and the wider community. Working with children has helped me to grow personally by developing more patience, by being empathetic, and by giving me a new perspective to see the world through the eyes of children. I have always been a believer in servant leadership. The Boys & Girls Club gives me a pathway to do just that: lead by serving others. It’s a path that comes with its challenges, but also with immense satisfaction and the potential to make a significant difference.
