Meet Kasanndra

“The Cooking Club is so much fun,” exclaims 9-year-old Kasanndra, a member of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley – Western Heights Club. “In this club, I’ve learned how to cut things very carefully without hurting myself. We had a cooking competition and I helped to make some spring rolls and some strawberry Napoleons. All of it was super delicious!”

Club Director, Linda Fore, says that Kasanndra loves to help staff. She always volunteers to serve as a room manager, assisting staff with distributing supplies and cleaning up. She has led the Club Code several times and always serves as a good role model. If she ever hears anyone say something that isn’t nice, she reminds them to always be kind. She is a true example of how the Clubs teach members valuable skills that will serve them well throughout life.
