Meet Brooklyn

“We do so many fun activities at the Club!” exclaims 9-year-old Brooklyn, a member of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley – Lonsdale Elementary School Club. “I think that my favorite activity we did was to create lava lamps. We took an empty water bottle and added some water, oil, food coloring, and a fizzy type of tablet and put it all in the bottle. I also added some pink glitter to make mine extra pretty. It was really cool watching how the oil just stayed together and floated around the bottle.

When I grow up, I think that I want to be a nurse, just like my aunt. I like to help people and being a nurse would allow me help people get better. I also think it would be important to be really nice to them, because if you’re in a hospital, you’re probably pretty scared, so it would be good if you had someone there to calm you down.”
