The Halls/Powell Club hosted the Garden Kick-Off event Friday, April 22 from 4-6 pm. Halls/Powell board members and parents were invited to celebrate the progress of its spring garden and cooking program funded by the Humana Foundation with a $40,000 grant. Club members took part in a gardening-related craft, painting terracotta flower pots, and guests were served food that was prepared by the cooking club members. There was a check presentation with Denny Blalock (Administrative Assistant) and Patty Hardy (Strategic Integration Leader) of Humana, and our President & CEO Bart McFadden. The members were presented with certificates of participation for the program.
